Hello dear reader. We are new volunteers of such an interesting and mysterious country called Romania. We arrived around 2 months ago and fell in love with this beautiful country full of amazing people, culture, history, traditions, events, jokes and uniqueness.
At first, let's talk about the decision we made: becoming a volunteer. Nowadays volunteering became part of our wonderful life journey, but people still are curious about it and still are asking the question why? Well… being a volunteer gives as much good stuff to you as it does to the people, places, or animals you're trying to help! That's the secret of volunteering. You may work hours and weeks ahead as a volunteer and at that specific minute, when you enter the door full of children screaming your name and hugging you, at that specific moment is when the magic works; the magic of motivation, meaning of life.
So our adventure began in Romania, city Arad. We were extremely happy to get to know the city and the residents. Our first step was finding out all the necessary information about the Romanian history, famous people and we started from visiting museums in the city. Day by day we discovered something more about Romania and we still do. This is an amazing chance for each of us to do something good, to teach and to learn, to discover new places, new facts, new people and what is the most important to discover ourselves. And let us start the new page of our life with the words of American author H. Jackson Brown:
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
